WHAT IS RITE IN THE RAIN (RITR)?
RITR products are manufactured in Tacoma, Washington, USA and are used around the globe in situations ranging from desert warfare to rainforest insect research. RITR is a patented, environmentally responsible, all-weather writing paper that sheds water and enables you to write anywhere, in any weather.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
This 100% recyclable wood-based paper sheds water, moisture, dirt and grime and a myriad of other substances allowing you to continue to write on your notepad or copier paper. Ensure your project stays productive and insure your data!
DO I NEED A SPECIAL PEN?
Pencil works best. A pen that will work in wet environments will also work fine on RITR. Using a pencil or all-weather pen, RITR ensures that your notes survive the rigors of the field, regardless of conditions.
CAN I COPY OR PRINT?
Yes! Copy and laser print your own all-weather forms and documents on RITR Copier and Laser paper.
THE RITR ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT
- RECYCLABILITY - In spite of RITR's durability, it is totally recyclable as standard paper, which is untrue of poly coated papers. Simply recycle RITR as you do other white or printed papers.
- POST-CONSUMER RECYCLED MATERIALS - Our unique “PolyDura” cover and reference card substrate contains post-consumer recycled materials and is recyclable. (Recycled milk, shampoo bottles, etc.)
- ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF MANUFACTURING PROCESS - The process involved in the manufacture of RITR waterproof paper was designed to have ultra-low impact on the environment. The water based coating process emits only steam and all mill off-cuts are recycled back into the paper-manufacturing stream. All printing plates and processing liquids are recycled. 100% of printing inks are soy based. The modern facility and equipment are designed to be energy efficient
- RECYCLED FIBRE CONTENT - RITR All-Weather Writing Paper is a patented substrate created for use in outdoor writing situations. Since this paper is designed for use in extreme conditions it is manufactured with the most durable yet recyclable components available. Recycled content pulp, as a result of the repulping & reprocessing involved in recycling, produces a “weaker” substrate due to the shortened fibres. This inherent weakness reduces the field-durability of paper and as such is not used in the manufacture of RITR paper. It is one of the rare instances where virgin fibre adds significantly to the end-product function. Papers designed for “office or indoor” uses do not require this strength and as such can contain recycled fibre. This all being said, the wood fibres utilised for RITR are purchased from FSC Certified sources. By doing this it insures the RITR product is manufactured with high environmental and social standards and practices.
ARCHIVAL FOR SURVIVAL
Rite in the Rain 20 & 32 lb. papers meet the archival criteria laid out by ANSI/NISO Z39.48-1992 (R2002). This means that it is an archival quality paper and will last several hundred years under normal use. So... not only will it survive the elements, it will survive the attic! All of our books and copier papers are made from these grades.
